When carrying out a renovation project, we don’t just go into an old property and gut it! We carefully carry out tests on all walls and timbers to save as much of the old building and its history as possible.

You have to be very careful who you get to carry out a restoration project in an old building. If the wrong materials are used then you run the risk of pushing moisture and dampness into places you don’t want it. If a strong sand and cement mix is added to the walls that are damp, the moisture will be pushed towards the timbers in the surrounding area, Over time these timbers will start to decay and rot away.

We have had over 30 years experience in the damp proofing industry and have carried out complete renovation projects on old barns and farmhouses. Please don’t let some building contractor come in and “slap” sand and cement on the walls as this will stop your house from “breathing” and will cause even more damage.
